High Performance

High performance sport refers to athletes, sports teams and sports organizations that are focused on the highest level of competition.  The emphasis is on winning.  Players will devote many hours to training, and strength and conditioning through on-court and off-court sessions.  Some athletes are also focused on mental training, proper nutrition, and may partake in various types of preventative and restorative therapies which can enhance athletic performance and reduce the risk of injury and illness.  As such, an athlete may work with many sport practitioners to optimize their preparation for elite-level competition.
