Post-secondary includes universities and colleges in both Canada and the US.  There are various governing bodies including USports, the CCAA, and the NCAA and each is subdivided into conferences.

The post-secondary basketball season runs from September to March.

These teams use scouting as well as open tryouts for recruitment.
