High Performance
The High Performance pathway is for athletes who are wanting to pursue national, post-secondary and professional ball. This pathway takes an enormous amount of time, resources, dedication and talent. If you choose to pursue this route, you will be competing against top Canadian athletes for spots on elite teams, as well as against top American athletes who are aiming for post-secondary and professional spots. Below is an idea of the path that you would take to go all the way.
Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association
The OSBA is a high-performance program which is a partnership between a select group of high schools and basketball programs to create an immersive preparatory sports experience for high performance basketball players from grades 9 to 12 with specialized schedules that cater to training and traveling. Ontario Basketball manages the women’s league which includes a series of league games and a Final 8 Championships in March.

To play in the OSBA, you must attend the school with which the team is affiliated. Most teams host an ID session in the winter/spring prior to the confirmation of rosters. An ID Session is different than a tryout. For more information, click here. There is a fee to participate which is set by each respective OSBA team.
